1. Is Monarch Montessori School a licensed school?
Yes. Monarch Montessori School is a licensed childcare facility. Our license is issued by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE).

2. Does Monarch Montessori School hire qualified teachers?
Yes. Our lead staff are required to have either a Bachelor's degree or at least 5-9 years of experience working with young children in a childcare setting. All staff, regardless of their qualifications when hired, must complete State-required training within 90 days of employment and an additional 16-20 clock hours of continuing education training each calendar year. Staff qualifications are also approved by our licensing agent.

3. Does Monarch Montessori School charge a registration fee?
Yes. Our registration fee is equal to one month's tuition and is due at the time application is made.

4. What languages do we speak at Monarch Montessori School?
We speak both English and Spanish.

5. What time does drop-off begin and end at Monarch Montessori School?
Drop-off begins at 8:00am and ends at 9:15am.

6. Is Monarch Montessori School open all year round?
Yes. We are open all year round with intermittent breaks including spring and winter break.

7. Does Monarch Montessori School participate in any subsidy programs?
Yes. We participate in MCCYN Fee Assistance and Virginia Childcare Subsidy Programs.

8. Does Monarch Montessori School provide meals?
We do not provide lunch. We provide a morning and afternoon snack.

9. Does Monarch Montessori School require childhood vaccinations?
Yes. We require all children in our care be vaccinated per the Virginia Department of Education and Virginia Department of Health standards. Vaccination records must be submitted as a part of your enrollment packet.

10. Does Monarch Montessori School require uniforms?
Yes. We require uniforms for children ages 18 months and up.

11. Does Monarch Montessori School undergo inspections?
Yes. The State inspects our facility at least two times per licensing year.

12. Does Monarch Montessori School practice gender fluidity?
No. In keeping with our school's educational philosophy and mission, our curriculum aligns with traditional gender roles and norms. Therefore, the practice of gender fluidity, whether expressed through clothing, pronouns, or otherwise is not permitted on our campus.

13. Does Monarch Montessori School implement a specific curriculum?
Yes. As of 2026, Monarch Montessori School fuses Montessori and Waldorf philosophies to provide an authentic experience focused on holistic development, independent learning, self-correction, creativity and specialized materials.

Yes. Monarch Montessori School is a private institution, privately-owned and governed by our executive committee.
